Dräger PSS AirBoss
Dräger PSS · Self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA)

Dräger PSS AirBoss

EN 137:2006

The Dräger PSS AirBoss is a high-performance, ambient-air-independent breathing apparatus (SCBA) for firefighting; it offers best-in-class ergonomics and is one of the lightest breathing apparatus for firefighters. A height-adjustable ergonomic harness and a hip belt that moves as you stretch reduce physical strain; a lightweight space frame with hose routing lets you adjust the routing of the lung demand valve, gauge and rescue hoses. The Quick Connect option allows fast cylinder changes, and a universal cylinder strap fits single or twin cylinder configurations. Highly visible, photoluminescent and reflective surfaces make team members easier to locate in low light. On versions with PASS (motionless alarm), it activates automatically when the cylinder opens; with colour-coded front and rear BuddyLights it gives visual and acoustic warnings when a firefighter stops moving, runs low on air, is under high thermal load or is in distress. Integrated handles support rescue. With Dräger FireGround every wearer in the field can be monitored in real time; the data logger records alarms, air pressure and battery status. Harness materials have low absorption and repel liquids, and the whole apparatus is machine washable. RAM Link, RFID tags and tool-free disassembly simplify maintenance and asset management. Three configurations are available: Active, the lightest with a mechanical gauge; Extend with integrated PASS; and Connect with advanced sensors, 360° buddy lights and full FireGround compatibility. According to the technical table, the back plate and harness weigh 4.16 kg and inlet pressure is 0–300 bar. Approvals: NEN-EN 137:2006 (type 2), NEN-EN 14593 Part 1, AS/NZS, NIOSH, NFPA, SOLAS II-2 and MED.
