Dräger Bodyguard 1500
The Dräger Bodyguard 1500 is a wireless, automatic PASS (motionless alarm) system that increases the safety of breathing apparatus wearers. It draws attention to team members in distress with conspicuous visual and acoustic alarms and includes wireless data transmission from the pressure gauge to the PASS device. It is designed for professional and volunteer fire brigades and for industry. In normal use two blue LEDs show the wearer's position, even in poor visibility. The backlit Tx gauge sends pressure data to the PASS device and, if used, to the Dräger FPS 7000 head-up display; visual and acoustic warnings are given when the air supply falls below user-defined limits such as 2/3 or 1/3. When the pressure drops below 56 bar the PASS device emits a warning signal. If the wearer does not move for more than 20 seconds a pre-alarm sounds; if it is not cancelled the main alarm is activated. After initial pairing each Tx gauge is linked to a specific Bodyguard 1500; opening the cylinder valve starts the device automatically, with no cables. It is robust and lightweight; it meets the requirements of NEN-EN 137:2006 (type 2) for use from -30 °C to +60 °C. It comes with a clamp and crocodile clip for shoulder or hip wear, and large buttons can be operated with gloves. The battery lasts 12 months before replacement, so it can be changed at annual service. It can also be used without the Tx gauge as a standalone PASS; Tx gauge upgrade kits are available for existing Plus and PSS series breathing apparatus. Incident history and settings can be downloaded with the Dräger RFID PC Link.
