Dräger X-plore 8000 Helmets
Dräger X-plore 8000 helmets are headpieces combining head and respiratory protection, used with the Dräger X-plore 8000 powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR) system and the Dräger X-plore 9300 airline system. They are robustly built for daily use in heavy industry and, depending on the configuration, protect the head, face and eyes against chemical or mechanical hazards. The face seal comes in different materials and lengths: mechanical Zytec seals as L1Z short (no neck protection), L2Z medium (with neck protection) and L3Z long (shoulder protection); chemical-resistant seals in Tychem 2000 as L2T2 half-long (with neck protection) and in Tychem 4000 as L3T4 long with welded seams (shoulder protection). The HL1 version with its short seal can be fitted with a flame-retardant helmet cover or a heat protection set. All helmets have a panoramic PC visor with anti-fog and anti-scratch coating, and the visor flips up. The head harness adjusts in size and height, and the direction of the air outlet at the forehead can be adjusted; forehead and crown padding add comfort and absorb sweat. The helmets can be machine washed and disinfected, and parts can be removed for cleaning and replacement. All versions except HL1 can be used with hearing protection. They are used in general industry, steel and metal, construction, oil and gas, and waste processing. The respiratory protection class depends on the version and PAPR (EN 12941 TH1Z, TH2 or TH3; with the X-plore 9300, EN 14594 class 3B or 4A/3B); head protection is to EN 397 and eye protection to EN 166.
