Under the amendment that entered into force on 23 December 2025, periodic inspection contracts are approved via İSG-KATİP, and the number of types of equipment requiring an inspection body rises from four to eight.

The regulation amending the Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment (İş Ekipmanlarının Kullanımında Sağlık ve Güvenlik Şartları Yönetmeliği) was published in the Official Gazette No. 33116 of 23 December 2025 and entered into force on the same day. The amendment concerns employers who use work equipment, the authorised persons who carry out periodic inspections, and inspection bodies. The Directorate General of Occupational Health and Safety (İSGGM) of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security summarised the changes in its announcement of 24 December 2025.
Definitions and digital records
- In line with the amendment to the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331 (6331 sayılı İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği Kanunu), the definition of equipment inspection body has been introduced in place of "accredited inspection body".
- EKİPNET has been redefined as the module within İSG-KATİP for recording and tracking periodic inspections.
- Periodic inspection reports are now based on approval rather than signature; records in electronic form are accepted as valid.
Periodic inspection process
- Only the equipment or equipment groups listed in the Annex III tables are subject to periodic inspection, and these inspections are carried out by authorised persons.
- The employer and the authorised person must mutually approve a contract conforming to the template in İSG-KATİP no later than one day before the inspection.
- Reports issued for equipment outside Annex III, for which inspection is not mandatory, are not subject to any format or contract requirement.
- An authorised person who issues a report without an İSG-KATİP contract has their authorisation suspended for 1 month; under the previous rules this period was 6 months. Sanctions are now applied separately for each inspection.
- isekipmanlari.csgb.gov.tr has become the official publication channel: for equipment for which the Ministry has published criteria documents, inspections are carried out according to those documents, and for other equipment according to the Annex III criteria.
Equipment requiring an inspection body, and the transition
- The number of types of equipment that must be inspected by an equipment inspection body has risen from four to eight. The additions are: powered lifting platforms for persons with disabilities, steam boilers, cableway installations and mast climbing work platforms.
- Until the Ministry makes a new arrangement, bodies accredited by TÜRKAK (Turkish Accreditation Agency) under TS EN ISO/IEC 17020 are deemed to be equipment inspection bodies.
- The provision concerning the four newly added equipment groups does not apply until 1 January 2027; reports duly issued before that date remain valid for their period of validity.
Other changes to the Annex III table
- Periodic inspection of lifting equipment in wind turbines is to be carried out in accordance with TS EN 81-44.
- For cathodic protection systems, where the standards do not specify an interval, the periodic inspection interval has become 1 year instead of 6 months.
- The LPG tanks row has been updated to cover underground and above-ground tanks; inspection is to be carried out at the interval given in a written plan prepared by the employer in accordance with the relevant standards (examination only), and reassessed at the end of 10 years.
