Infrared (IR) Sensors
Dräger infrared sensors monitor explosive mixtures and CO2 in the X-am 5600, 7000 and 8000 gas detectors. They are recommended where explosive gases occur frequently. The measuring range is from the lower explosive limit up to 100 vol.%, and 0-5 vol.% for CO2. They are completely insensitive to poisoning; measurements in atmospheres containing hydrogen sulphide and silicones, or in inert atmospheres, do not affect sensor performance. Expected service life is over 5 years; low drift and a 12-month calibration interval keep the cost of ownership low. The Dual IR Ex/CO2 sensor measures Ex and CO2 with a single sensor, for example in the wastewater sector.
