Dräger X-plore 5500
The Dräger X-plore 5500 is a twin-filter full face mask with a Dräger-specific bayonet connection, designed for tasks that need not only increased respiratory protection but also a good view of the work. It is used in the chemical and automotive industries, shipbuilding, horticulture and metal construction. The body is EPDM and it comes in one size. The large, distortion-free visor gives an extra-wide field of view with a 180° viewing angle; two options are available: an impact-resistant polycarbonate visor (with plastic frame) or a scratch- and chemical-resistant triplex glass visor (with stainless steel frame). An efficient ventilation system with a separate nose cup prevents fogging and keeps the view clear. The 5-point rubber head harness lets the mask be put on and taken off quickly without catching hair, and the wide straps avoid pressure points. The swept-back side position of the filters keeps the field of view clear. Protection covers particles and/or gases and vapours depending on the filters used; the mask takes Dräger X-plore bayonet filters, not Rd40 filters. It is approved to EN 136 class 2, AS/NZS 1716:2012 and NIOSH.
