Carrying system for Dräger closed-circuit diving apparatus
The RBD 5000 is a carrying system for all closed-circuit diving apparatus in the Dräger LAR family. Buckles attach the diving apparatus to the vest. These buckles are individually adjustable, ensuring the apparatus fits comfortably.
Buoyancy system
To regulate and tare buoyancy at any depth, the RBD 5000 serves as a complete buoyancy system, with built-in inflator and inflator hose. The buoyancy compensator is made of PU-coated polyamide, with a buoyancy of 140 N for a safe, controlled dive.
Emergency ascent system
The RBD 5000 can be used as an emergency ascent system. The PU-coated polyamide ascent system is independent of the buoyancy system, offering buoyancy of 450 N with activation via a manual trigger mechanism. The emergency ascent system ensures a safe face-up position on the surface. The system is filled via the two built-in CO2 cartridges. The trigger mechanism is located on the front side for easy access.
Ballistic protection
For added safety, the RBD 5000 offers a plate carrier with an optional ballistics protection plate for the chest and back sections. The seawater-resistant plates are made of ceramic, with a VPAM9 (stand-alone) performance rating. Each plate weighs 2.6 kg. For boarding applications, the buoyancy and emergency ascent system can be detached from the ballistic protection, so the diving apparatus, including buoyancy system, can be left behind. This enables the mission to be completed more quickly, with less ballast, while the user is still protected against ballistics during boarding.
Weight system
The RBD 5000 includes a system of detachable weights. This system can be equipped with up to 10 kg of weight (10 x 1 kg/5 x 2 kg weights). The weights can be detached via an easy-access, forward-facing trigger mechanism.
Configuration options
The carrying system is highly flexible in use. Additional accessories enable the user to adjust the RBD 5000 to the exact requirements of the planned mission. On the back, for example, the weight system can be replaced with a MOLLE equipment carrier, or both options can be omitted to attach additional equipment. There is also the option of attaching an additional nitrox tank.
